About Joanna

My name is Joanna Jacobs and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) practicing in the north suburbs of Chicago. I am a graduate of the University of Michigan (BA in Psychology) and  of the University of Chicago with a Masters in Social Work. I have worked as a school social worker in Niles, IL and Highland Park, IL, as well as in Dallas, TX. In these roles, I've supported students in Pre-K through 12th grade to learn and utilize coping skills, strengthen social skills, and feel heard. I have also worked as a clinical therapist at Jewish Family Services of  Dallas, providing individual therapy for children, adolescents, and adults. I love to use a variety of techniques -- integrating evidence based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy with activity and play therapy techniques, expressive art projects, and Social Thinking / Zones of Regulation. It is my goal to help you achieve your goals, whether that be to cope with anxiety and depression, make and maintain stronger relationships, or feel a increased sense of self worth. It'd be my honor to be a part of your journey.
